JOG THE WEB (http://www.jogtheweb.com/ ) is a web-based tool that allows anyone to create a synchronous guide to a series of web sites. Its step by step approach of taking viewers through web sites allowing the author to annotate and ask guiding questions for each page is unique. It can be used by an instructor collect a group of web pages and have students answer questions based on the page as seen in this jog created for a psychology class:

Or this created for a Law and Justice Class:

Jog the Web can be used as a way for teachers to guide students to specific websites on different topics:

Another use for Jog the Web would be to have students create their own jog, researching high quality websites. In the annotation section of the jog, students can pose questions or explain why they selected each website as a quality site for their research project.
